Preparing to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector

Who is this course for:

The purpose of this scheme is to provide an introduction to those who wish to train or teach. It is a qualification that will equip a wide range of trainers, facilitators and teachers to support learners. The 7303 course is a stepping stone award and introduce's candidates to delivering training. It is ideal for trainers in commerce, industry, public sector and HM Forces. The level 3 and 4 awards is preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector which is appropriate and necessary for all new entrants wishing to achieve a recognised teaching qualification.

Aims and Objectives of the Qualification:

The qualification aims to equip learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding required for teaching in the lifelong learning sector.

The course objectives are to help learners to:

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of the teacher.
  • Understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches within a specialised area.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate micro teach sessions
  • Understand the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping.

Course Overview

This course is run over a period of 5 days consisting of 30 hours class contact. A further 30 hours of student self study is also required, these non contact hours are necessary for research and completion of assignments.
